请问这句话中的sifting…past和looking…name分别在句中作什么成分？如果是现在分词作状语，意思就讲不通，因为意思就是“她无法假装她细筛过的过去”跟“她无法假装她寻找过她说不出来的那些东西的预兆”，而不是“她无法假装她没有细筛他们的过去”跟“她无法假装她没有寻找过她说不出来的那些东西的预兆”。现在分词作状语変句子只说前面加上主语，可没说连否定词也加上啊！怎么回事？难道不是现在分词作状语，是插入语？插在最后面？如果这两处的句法作用是一样的，为什么不用and连接呢？就只用了一个逗号？ She couldnt pretend that he was not a part of her homesickness, or that she didnt often think of him, sifting through their past, looking for portents of what she could not name.
