Why is fishing the writers favourite sport？
Fishing is my favourite sport. I often fish for hours without catching anything. But this does not worry me. Some fishermen are unlucky. Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots and rubbish. I am even less lucky. I never catch anything--not even old boots. After having spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag. You must give up fishing!" my friends say. "Its a waste of time. But they dont realize one important thing. Im not really interested in fishing. I am only interested in sitting in a boat and doing nothing at all!
疑问1：After having spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag.
（1）新概念英语解释说是介词after接的动名词的完成形式，既然如此那么其意义是什么呢？为什么不是After spending...呢？
（2）网上说是省去了主语 “I”，那么写全After I have spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag. 既然都有连词after已经表明时间的前后，为什么从句还要用完成形时？为什么不用一般过去时或者一般现在时？
疑问2： I never catch anything--not even old boots. not even old boots,写全是不是
"I do not catch even ols boots."按照省略相同部分不是应该 “do not even old boots.”？
